Through the first few weeks of the New England Patriots' offseason workouts, star quarterback Tom Brady was notably absent from team activities. However, Brady finally showed up this week for mandatory OTAs.
In response to his arrival to training camp, the 40-year-old voiced that his absence was solely due to personal reasons, and he doesn't feel this offseason has been any different than previous ones, according to Nick Shook of NFL.com.

But I'm here now and I'm focused on what I need to do, as I always am, and I'm looking forward to this year.”
It is reasonable to believe that there is still something lingering on both sides that caused Brady to not attend a single voluntary workout this offseason, which is something that he has typically done throughout his illustrious career. There was some reported tension behind the scenes between him and the Patriots that stemmed from their restricted access to his personal trainer Alex Guerrero late last season.
Brady is likely looking to quickly brush all the added attention aside and focus on preparing for the 2018 season, where he hopes to contend for yet another Super Bowl. As the offseason moves along, the scrutiny concerning this situation should slowly dwindling down.
Brady's arrival allows the Patriots to shift their attention toward getting their remodeled offensive personnel more acclimated to playing alongside the reigning league MVP for the upcoming campaign.
