The New England Patriots were handed their first loss of the season on Sunday night, as the Baltimore Ravens thumped them by a score of 37-20 in their Week 9 tilt.

Afterward, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady reflected on the defeat.

“Losses always find a way to recalibrate how you see yourself,” Brady said, per Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk. “We obviously have a lot of work to do. Tonight, obviously wasn’t good enough. When you get beat by 17 points, that’s not what we’re all about. Give the Ravens credit, they played really well. They took advantage of their opportunities and that is what it takes.”

Brady completed 30 of his 46 passes for 285 yards, a touchdown and in interception in the loss.

Julian Edelman and Mohamed Sanu each logged 10 catches, but neither eclipsed the 100-yard mark in what was an overall lackluster performance by the Patriots' offense.

In spite of New England winning its first eight games, many expressed concern over the Pats' offense throughout the first half of the season, and the fact that Josh Gordon did not work out has certainly not made things easier.

Fortunately, the Patriots have plenty of time to adjust between now and the playoffs, but whether or not they have enough offensive talent is definitely a fair question to ask.

In nine games this season, Brady has thrown for 2,536 yards, 14 touchdowns and five picks while completing 64.8 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 93.1.

New England will have a bye this week before taking on the Philadelphia Eagles the following Sunday.
