Throughout much of his NFL career, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has worn an older helmet due to his preference with the comfort and visibility that it allows him to have on the field.
However, the 41-year-old has finally changed it up, deciding to use a new-style helmet this offseason in hopes of providing himself more protection from the hits that he will get this upcoming season. Brady made it clear he is still adjusting to it, but he is hopeful that change is beneficial for him on the field, per Mike Reiss of ESPN.

It's a bit of change in philosophy from Brady heading into his 19th season in the league, but it is one that he believes will help keep him on the field. He is in the back end of his career and injuries will play a much larger factor the older he gets. Preventing any type of head injury from occurring is crucial.
Brady previously spent much of his career with an older style of helmet that he felt worked to his advantage. The new one provides is a slight adjustment to the padding and protection of the head, as he finally felt making the change is necessary for himself at this stage of his career.
The reigning league MVP is coming off another highly productive campaign where he threw for 4,577 yards with 32 touchdown passes and a 102.8 passer rating.
