- CLUTCH Summary: New England is set to defend their Super Bowl championship from a year ago.
- New England has a tough schedule ahead, but Tom Brady and company are more than ready.
- The road may be tough, but another big season is in the works if they play as they should.
The New England Patriots have been amongst the elite teams in the NFL since 2000. However, things are set to change, right? Even with the retirement of All-Pro tight end Rob Gronkowski and the aging of quarterback Tom Brady, the Patriots are expected to keep rolling. The 2019 NFL season is where it's supposed to fall apart. But haven't we been here before? The Patriots have been to four of the last five Super Bowls and who is to say they won't make it five of the last six when this season is over?
Looking over their schedule shows that while there are a few tough games, the Pats still have a clear shot to the AFC Championship Game. A tough rematch with the Kansas City Chiefs, a revenge game against the Philadelphia Eagles, a showdown with the new-look Cleveland Browns, and they still have time to continue their dominance through the AFC East.
Here is the game-by-game outcome prediction of the 2019 New England Patriots schedule.
Pittsburgh Steelers (Week 1-Home)
The Patriots open the 2019 season at home against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Pats will have to prove that they can move forward without Gronkowski. The ground game will have to be exceptional as the passing attack may struggle in the early going. Despite having scattered skill players at RB and WR, the presence of Antonio Brown will be missed. Pats Win
Miami Dolphins (Week 2-Away)
After a season-opening win against the Steelers, the Patriots travel down to Miami to continue their run over AFC East teams. The Dolphins have played the Pats tough in recent years, but with an unstable quarterback at the helm in Miami, the Pats walk away victorious. Pats Win
New York Jets (Week 3-Home)
In Week 3, the Pats will welcome the new-look New York Jets. With Le'Veon Bell now in green and white, the Jets will look to take advantage of an average run defense while hoping Sam Darnold has made strides in his second season. This is Foxborough and the seasoned vets on the Patriots will make sure no division team comes into their house and wins. Pats Win
Buffalo Bills (Week 4-Away)
Any division game is tough, but the Pats have owned the Buffalo Bills for the better part of a decade. The Bills are searching for an identity on both sides of the ball. Will Josh Allen be able to make the Patriots' defense pay? No. They have no weapons and with an aging backfield, this will be a blowout. Pats Win
Washington Redskins (Week 5-Away)
The Patriots will begin their NFC East schedule with a trip to the nation's capital. The Redskins were a quarterback away from winning the division last season. Likely armed with a rookie at the helm, the Redskins are hoping a great running back tandem will put them over the hump. Likely against the Giants, but not the Patriots. Pats Win
New York Giants (Week 6-Home)
Those Super Bowl revenge games are over with. The Giants just don't have the firepower to keep up with the Patriots. Brady should have a field day against the Giants' weak secondary. Pats win
New York Jets (Week 7-Away)
Despite just playing each other a few weeks earlier, the results will be the same. The Jets are just not on the Patriots' level yet and Brady and company will walk away with another easy victory. Pats Win
Cleveland Browns (Week 8-Home)
Two seasons ago, this was an easy win. However, these are not the old Browns. The defense is stacked and the offense is ready to claim a spot as one of the best. This should be a high-scoring game with the Browns squeaking out a win in Foxborough. Browns Win.
Baltimore Ravens (Week 9-Away)
Could this be a trap game for the Patriots? Coming off their first loss of the season to the Browns and the Eagles up next, this could be a game where the Pats lose focus. But fear not, the Ravens have skilled players such as Lamar Jackson, but they're not on the Pats' level, just yet. Pats Win

Philadelphia Eagles (Week 11-Away)
The Patriots travel to Philly to take on an Eagles team led by Caron Wentz and their explosive offense. While both teams can put up points, the final seconds will come down to a defensive stop with the Eagles pulling out a tight victory at home. Eagles Win
Dallas Cowboys (Week 12-Home)
Many believe this could be a Super Bowl matchup. The Patriots will be coming off a tough three-game stretch and will not take the Cowboys lightly. After losses to the Eagles and Browns, the Pats will right their ship against the Cowboys. Pats Win
Houston Texans (Week 13-Away)
The Texans will host the Patriots with playoff implications on the line. The Pats will be fresh off a four-game stretch where they went up against four possible playoff teams. The Texans will be the fifth. Tough defense versus a great offense. Brady pulls out a close one. Pats Win
Kansas City Chiefs (Week 14-Home)
A rematch of one of the instant classics from last season. The Kansas City Chiefs are an up-and-coming team and the Patriots are the old school bullies. Patrick Mahomes is settled in as the next best thing, but Brady is not ready to give up the throne. Expect a high-scoring game with a different outcome from last season. The Chiefs get their win. Chiefs Win
Cincinnati Bengals (Week 15-Away)
By this time, the Bengals' season could be over if A.J. Green cannot come back from his injury sooner than Week 5. The Bengals will host the Patriots with nothing to play for and just may see the Pats put up close to 40 points before it's over. Pats Win
Buffalo Bills (Week 16-Home)
Maybe the Bills have a shot here. By the time this game comes along, the Pats will have the AFC East locked up and will be focusing on keeping players healthy for the playoffs. With Bill Belichick possibly looking for at least one more week to get his starters some reps, this will spell doom for the Bills, again. Pats Win
Miami Dolphins (Week 17-Home)
By now, the Patriots will have their playoff spot secured, so this game will have no effect on anything. With Brady and the rest of the starters resting, the Dolphins should have this game in the bag. Dolphins Win
