The New England Patriots drafted N'Keal Harry in the first round in last year's draft, and if they are smart they will take wideout Justin Jefferson from LSU with their first-round pick this season.

In the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl, Jefferson showed the rest of the world what NFL teams already knew about him, he is an elite wideout that is going to be an instant impact player for some team. Against the Oklahoma Sooners, he caught 14 passes for 227 yards and four touchdowns.

The Patriots need a big-bodied receiver that can go up and catch passes, especially in the red zone. Jefferson is a big-bodied receiver, that can come in and fill that role next season. Thedraftnetwork.com gave the following review of Jefferson's game.

“This player has good proactive athleticism for the position. He’s a bit of a strider but has displayed some instances of suddenness off the line of scrimmage. He has sufficient deep speed on 8 and 9 routes, while also displaying good catch efficiency in the exposures I evaluated. He displays good instincts against zone and will adjust his route accordingly. He is a crafty route runner who knows how to set up defenders to win against man coverage. He is good in contested catch situations and demonstrates very good body control to adjust on back shoulder throws. Plays with good toughness and will catch flanker drives and shallow crosses over middle when contact is imminent. Appears to be more effective in the intermediate to deep areas.”

Jefferson isn't the greatest athlete and doesn't have the most amazing speed, but that really isn't what the Patriots are looking for right now in their wideout. Since Rob Gronkowski retired the team has struggled to find someone they can look to in the end zone they know will come down with a catch in traffic.

Jefferson has proven he is more than just a pass catcher in traffic, but that is his biggest strength right away. He can work on the other things once he gets in the NFL to try and improve him but right away they can use him as a red-zone target. Even if next season he is only used as a red zone target, that is a big win for the Patriots who desperately need that.

Taking a wide receiver two years in a row in the first year might be something the Patriots don't want to do, but if they are smart they will take Jefferson.
