The New Orleans Saints apparently weren't quite done after the team's massive Week 1 win over future Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady and the rival Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Adding to the positivity surrounding New Orleans on Sunday afternoon, the Saints have reportedly agreed to sign veteran linebacker Demario Davis to a brand-new contract extension, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

With the deal reportedly coming together on Saturday evening, Davis managed to secure a three-year contract extension worth a total of $27 million. According to the aforementioned report, Davis will also earn $18.35 million in guaranteed money.

The 31-year-old Davis has notably spent the last two seasons as a member of the Saints with the 2020 campaign slated to serve as his third go-round in New Orleans. Prior to making his way down south to Louisiana a few seasons backs, Davis spent time with both the New York Jets and Cleveland Browns.

It is also worth noting that in addition to his prowess as a quality defender from the linebacker position, Davis has yet to miss a regular season game as he has appeared in all 16 regular-season games in each of his first eight NFL campaigns.

Over the course of 128 career regular season appearances with the Jets, Browns and Saints, the seasoned defender has registered 804 total tackles alongside three forced fumbles, six fumble recoveries, two interceptions and 29 pass defenses. The 6'2″ and 250-pound Davis was originally selected by the Jets in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft out of Arkansas State.
