The Oakland Raiders need help just about everywhere on the field. The only players that seem to have a secured job are the offensive lineman and quarterback Derek Carr.
The Raiders drastically need playmakers on offense to accompany Carr and it's likely tight Jared Cook will be elsewhere next season.
There are several running backs on the free agent market that could help turn the team around, but a short term option for the Raiders considering his age is Mark Ingram.
Although the top running back option is undoubtedly Le'Veon Bell, the Raiders could snag him at a much cheaper price and get great production out of him as well.
The New Orleans Saints have reaped the benefits of having two great running backs the last two seasons with Ingram and Alvin Kamara, but the Saints should start preparing to be without Ingram next season. Ingram hits free agency and the Saints already have one of the league's best running backs in Kamara.
Ingram is still only 29 years old, but a lot of teams want a younger, faster running back. There are plenty of teams that are likely interested in Ingram, but the team that's in the most need of a playmaker are the Raiders.
Ingram has seen his production rise a bit the last few seasons of his career, but his injury history is something that has hampered his success throughout his career. Ingram has only reached 1,000 yards twice in his career and surprisingly one of those seasons was Kamara's first. There's not much Kamara can't do and his skill set is extremely unique.
Article Continues BelowSince Ingram is in a contract year, the Saints have a decision to make in regards to whether or not they want to keep their running back tandem intact or not.
With several playmakers already on the Saints roster, it's safe to assume they don't value Ingram as much as other teams do.
The Saints clearly favor Kamara whether it be on the ground or through the passing game so it will be interesting to see if the team keeps Ingram around as their change of pace back.
If the Saints choose to let Ingram test the free agent market, Ingram could be a 1,000 plus yard runner for the foreseeable future behind potentially one of the league's best lines.
The offseason will be interesting for Ingram and he could see himself in black and silver rather than black and gold in 2019.
