New Orleans Saints linebacker Demario Davis won't be wearing a custom headband anymore because he doesn't want to be fined anymore. Against the Seattle Seahawks, Davis wore a headband that read “Man of God” on it and he didn't realize it was against the league rules, so he was shocked when he received a $7,017 fine from the NFL last Saturday.

After he received the fine he went to Instagram to ask the fans if he should continue to wear the headband.

Many in the comments told Davis he should continue to wear it, but he decided to not don it when the Saints took on the Dallas Cowboys.

Davis told the media that he wasn't fully aware of the rule when he was fined and he posted it to Instagram to show others about the rule.

“I don't think a lot of people were aware of the policy that was in place — I wasn't even fully aware of it,” Davis said Wednesday via Nola.com. “I just wanted to put it out and just kind of help fans who care about the game understand a more intricate part of the game.”

Davis added that even though he can't wear the headband anymore he is trying to find a different way to represent God.

“I can't wear it and represent represent God and glorify him,” Davis said. “It's something that's important to me so I'm just trying to figure out a way to still turn it into a way he can get glory from it.”

There has been some outrage over this issue so it will be interesting if the league decides to make a change to their policy.
