The New Orleans Saints have begun their training camp practices and Jameis Winston is already turning heads from prominent members on the team. In the early portions of practices thus far, Drew Brees has been impressed with Winston, per Luke Johnson of the New Orleans Advocate.

At the conclusion of the 2019 season, Brees legitimately considered retirement during the offseason. However, he would re-sign with the Saints, giving him at least one more season with the Saints.

Of course, as long as Brees wants to play, he's going to be the starting quarterback for New Orleans. But who is going to take over for Brees when he does decide to call it quits?

Without a doubt, Taysom Hill could get the nod after signing a two-year extension this offseason. Also, besides retaining Hill, the Saints inked a one-year deal with Winston after he failed to receive much interest on the open market.

On the surface, it appears that Winston joined the Saints in an attempt to give himself another chance to sign elsewhere in 2021. With that being said, Winston could end up re-signing with New Orleans if Brees does choose to retire at season's end.

Last season, Winston threw for a career-high 5,109 yards, 33 touchdowns, and 30 interceptions in his lone season under Bruce Arians. Even though he still has issues with turnovers, Winston is still 26 years old and has room to improve moving forward.

Brees is considered one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time and his opinion is respected around the NFL. While it's early in training camp, getting endorsements from Brees is a positive sign for Winston — regardless of where he ends up playing next season.
