The New Orleans Saints brought Jameis Winston back in NFL free agency and are hoping to see what the 28-year-old can bring to the table under a full season of work. After his 2021 campaign was cut short due to an ACL injury, Winston has been working his way back, and was handed another opportunity in New Orleans. Ahead of his reunion with the Saints, Winston wasn't lacking any confidence, comparing himself to “your favorite quarterback,” via Nick Underhill.

“I can do everything on the field. I can do everything your favorite quarterback can do. Hopefully, I'm your favorite quarterback. But I can. Like, that's just what my talent speaks for that,” said Winston on Monday.

Winston impressed during his seven-game stretch with the Saints in 2021, before going down with a season-ending injury. Across his seven starts for the team, Winston went 5-2 with 14 touchdown passes and just 3 interceptions. It was one of his best starts to an NFL season across any year of his career, but it all went to the wayside after the knee injury.

Despite missing much of last year, Winston is eager to get back to action for 2022, and it seems his confidence has only increased during his time off the field. Saints fans will absolutely love the energy he's wearing ahead of training camp, and will hope he can carry that same level of self-assurance into the regular season. Of course, they'll also be hoping this overflowing of poise won't result in some errant throws and interceptions, as we've seen in the past from the 28-year-old.
