New Orleans Saints tight end Josh Hill has been ruled out for the remainder of the NFC Championship Game against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday afternoon after suffering a concussion during the first quarter, according to Josh Katzenstein of The New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Hill caught one pass for 24 yards before taking a hard hit to the head and exiting.

On the season, Hill hauled in 16 receptions for 185 yards and a touchdown.

The 25-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Idaho State, went undrafted but signed with the Saints as a free agent in May 2013. He ended up making New Orleans' roster for that season, catching six passes for 44 yards and a score.

The following year, Hill played in all 16 games, snaring 14 balls for 176 yards and providing Drew Brees with a big red zone target, as he also reached the end zone five times.

While Hill has never been a huge threat in the Saints' aerial attack, he has been very consistent, as he then registered receptions totals of 16, 15 and 16 in the years 2015, 2016 and 2017 before totaling 16 again this season.

Over the course of his career, Hill has caught 11 touchdown passes.

The Saints won 13 games and not only captured the NFC South division title this season, but finished with the best record in the NFL and locked down a first-round bye.

They went on to defeat the Philadelphia Eagles in the Divisional Round of the playoffs last week before meeting the Rams with a Super Bowl berth on the line on Sunday.
