The New Orleans Saints and Philadelphia Eagles executed a trade on Monday, as New Orleans sent five draft picks, including one of their first rounders this year, to Philadelphia in exchange for three picks, including two first-rounders this year. While they had to give up a fair amount, it's exciting for the Saints to now have two picks in the first round of a draft loaded with talent on both sides of the ball.

Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas reacted to the Saints-Eagles trade with one word:

Thomas is clearly excited about the Saints now having two picks in the first round. While it's unclear exactly what the Saints' intentions are, it would be reasonable to expect them to select a wide receiver with one of those picks.

Aside from Thomas, there isn't a whole lot to like about the Saints' wide receiver room. Plus, Thomas hasn't played since 2020, as he has been dealing with a nagging ankle injury.

However, he is a clear No. 1 wideout when healthy, as he totaled at least 1,100 yards in each of his first four seasons in the league.

Perhaps the Saints were angling to add to quarterback Jameis Winston's list of targets, but also had their eyes on a prospect at another position in the first round. Or maybe they have their sights set on moving up in the draft.

Either way, New Orleans now has even more options in the first round of the upcoming NFL Draft. Michael Thomas couldn't be more excited about it.
