New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas rustled some feathers when he posted a cryptic tweet amid reports of him ignoring calls during the offseason. On Monday, reporters proceeded to ask Saints head coach Sean Payton about Thomas's post.

In response to the question, Payton gave a blunt answer.

Nobody knows what Thomas's tweet is hinting at, but Payton didn't want to give it the time of day during his press conference.

The Saints are going to be without Thomas for a period of time after the wide receiver underwent surgery in June and is expected to miss some time and the beginning of the 2021 season.

The Saints' loss of Thomas is a big one, especially after Emmanuel Sanders signed with the Buffalo Bills and Drew Brees hung up his cleats. Jared Cook also left to sign with the Los Angeles Chargers, so the Saints' offense is missing a few key pieces from last year's group.

On top of all that, questions remain about whether Taysom Hill or Jameis Winston are named the starters for New Orleans.

Now some drama regarding Thomas and the organization, and this will be a situation worth monitoring especially with Thomas on the shelf for the time being.

Needless to say, Sean Payton just doesn't want to discuss this in a press conference, of all places.
