Last month, the New Orleans Saints placed a first-round tender on Taysom Hill, essentially ensuring that the quarterback would return to the Saints in 2020.

Well, now, his New Orleans return is official.

On Friday, the NFL deadline for any unsigned restricted free agent to sign an offer sheet with another team passed, meaning that Hill will be suiting up for the Saints next season, via Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk.

Taysom Hill will earn a fully guaranteed salary of $4.641 million in 2020.

While Hill views himself as a full-time signal-caller and New Orleans also sees him in that role eventually, he will obviously back up Drew Brees once again next season.

For now, the Saints will keep Hill in his versatile, do-it-all role.

Funny enough, Hill has only thrown 13 passes since entering the NFL as an undrafted free agent out of BYU in 2017. He has, however, had work as a rusher, receiver and returner.

Hill only saw the field scarcely during his rookie campaign, but in 2018, he rushed for 196 yards and a couple of touchdowns while also logging three catches and a receiving score. In addition, he returned 14 kicks for 348 yards.

Then, this past season, Taysom Hill totaled 156 yards while reaching the end zone once on the ground while catching 19 passes for 234 yards and a hefty six touchdowns.

New Orleans won 12 games and captured its third straight NFC South division title this past year. The Saints then went on to fall to the Minnesota Vikings in an overtime thriller in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs.
