Rapoport notes that Armstead's injury, which can generally take a month or more to fully heal, will keep him out of the Saints' Week 13 matchup with the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday night.
Armstead, who played his collegiate football at Arkansas-Pine Bluff, was originally selected by New Orleans in the third round (75th pick overall) of the 2013 NFL Draft.
Since entering the league, Armstead has yet to play a full season, topping out at 14 games in 2014.

The 49ers' win over the Green Bay Packers on Sunday evening allowed New Orleans to jump Green Bay—which is now 8-3—in the standings. As a result, the Saints are now in control of their own destiny the rest of the way.
New Orleans is looking to nail down a first-round bye for the second straight season. Last year, the Saints won 13 games and made it all the way to the NFC Championship Game before ultimately falling to the Los Angeles Rams in controversial fashion.
