On Monday, New Orleans Saints wide-receiver Michael Thomas Tweeted a *barfing* emoji. This was a quote Tweet responding to a post sent out by the NFL's official Officiating account.

Thomas was part of the NFC championship game against the Los Angeles Rams a few weeks ago. AT the tail-end of that contest, Thomas had clearly been pushed on a missed pass interference call. This caused outrage across the state of Louisiana and NFL fans everywhere. Thomas is clearly still upset about the miscall, as is everyone.

The news has even made its way all the way to the state governor. Gov. John Bel Edwards sent a letter last week to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell expressing his “deep disappointment” for the people of Louisiana and Saints fans.

John Bel Edwards told the Associated Press:

“The very least that any fan of the Saints, or any other team, should be able to expect from any game is that the result will be decided by the players on the field. By missing the obvious, blatant and intentional penalty at the end of the game, the referees in Sunday’s game undermined that expectation and unfortunately were allowed to determine the winner…The very integrity of the game will be called into question.”

The NFL has a lot of work to be done this offseason in potentially changing a rule. To miss a call this huge is more than just another missed call. It's something that needs to be fixed. Moving forward, the competition committee will have to figure out a solution to their dire problem.

Last season Thomas was one of the best wideouts in the league. For the 13-3 Saints, Thomas grabbed 125 receptions for 1405 yards with nine touchdowns. He's one of Brees best weapons to go to in the endzone.
