It is no secret that New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton has had his run-ins with the league's officials. As a result, it is absolutely no surprise that Payton is now opposed to some of the league's new proposals for instant replay changes.
With this year's NFC Championship Game ultimately being decided by the referees, the league is now looking to make a change that would allow only for reviews of plays where a flag was thrown — which was not the case for Payton's Saints against the Super Bowl-bound Los Angeles Rams.

Our best at officiating, it’s their second job. That has to change, because it’s too hard. There’s too much at stake for someone who’s a teacher at a school, who’s a florist, an attorney. That’s backward thinking.
“And really as we move forward into the next 10 years, for instance, of our game, where do we want officiating? With all of the technology we have available to us, our fans are closer to the game, our fans are way more in tuned and educated as to the correct calls in the game. And we just need to be better.”
The Saints remain one of the favorites in the NFC while another matchup against the Rams could be on the horizon come playoff time.
