C.J. Mosley is set to make his return this 2021 season for the New York Jets after sitting out the 2020 campaign due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With a new head coach at the helm in Robert Saleh, questions arose whether he will fit in the 42-year old's system. Saleh, however, debunked any of those uncertainties, claiming that the linebacker's talent should transcend whatever system he's in.

MLB C.J. Mosley: “It really doesn't matter what the scheme is, he's going to fit. He's been a fantastic player his entire life and that's not going to change just because a new coaching staff has come in. He's a tremendous leader, a tremendous player. He hasn't played in a couple of years so you know he's just chomping at the bit to get back on the field.”

Mosley hasn't seen the field for essentially a couple of seasons, having played just two games in the 2019. He suffered a groin injury in their first game of the season and eventually sat out all but two games of the entire campaign due to the injury.

At the time, Mosley had just signed a 5-year, $85 million deal to join the Jets after playing the first five years of his career with the Baltimore Ravens.

Despite being out of action for over two years, Mosley is still an elite talent and could very well reclaim his place as one of the top linebackers in the league. He made four Pro-Bowls in his five seasons with the Ravens. At just 28 years old, Mosley can definitely make a positive impact for the Jets as they usher in the Robert Saleh era in New York.
