The New York Jets have placed cornerback Trumaine Johnson on the injured reserve list due to an ankle injury, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
The #Jets announced they’ve placed WR Josh Bellamy and CB Trumaine Johnson on Injured Reserve. I think it’s safe to say Johnson has played his last down with the team.

Johnson's tenure with the Jets has been disastrous, to say the least.
New York signed him to a five-year, $72.5 million contract in March 2018, but his first season with the club was tremendously disappointing, as he played just 10 games and finished with 40 tackles, four interceptions, five passes defended and a defensive touchdown.
In seven games this year, Johnson totaled 25 tackles and a pick.
The 29-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Montana, was originally selected by the St. Louis Rams in the third round (65th pick overall) of the 2012 NFL Draft.
Article Continues BelowHe spent the first six years of his career with the Rams and developed into a solid cornerback for the club, breaking out in 2015 when he posted 71 tackles, seven interceptions, a fumble recovery, 17 passes defended and a defensive touchdown.
However, Johnson has failed to live up to expectations with the Jets, and Rapoport notes that there is a chance the defensive back may have played his final down with Gang Green.
Johnson's underwhelming tenure is just the latest thing to go wrong for the Jets.
Thanks to a busy offseason in which New York landed big names such as Le'Veon Bell and C.J. Mosley, the Jets were expected by many to contend for a playoff spot in the AFC this year, but thanks to injuries and poor performance across the board, New York has instead been one of the worst teams in football and sports a 1-7 record through nine weeks.
The Jets will battle the New York Giants next Sunday.
