New York Jets linebacker Darron Lee says his team knew just about everything about the Detroit Lions offense in their crushing 48-17 Week 1 victory in Detroit. The Jets intercepted five passes for the first time in nearly 20 years. Lee claims that his team's success on the defensive end was made possible by their thorough film sessions to study the opposing team's sets and plays.

Lee himself had two interceptions, one of which he ran back for a score. This ended the 74-game drought that the for the Jets' defense, via Rich Cimini of ESPN.com.

“We knew his signals,” Lee said. “We knew everything. That's just preparation as a defense…. It seemed like we were in his head as a defense.”

Over the offseason, NFL teams have an extended period of time to get ready for who they play in the season opener. The Jets stole four passes from Matthew Stafford and a fifth pass from backup quarterback Matt Cassel. They appeared just to be clicking on all cylinders.

The Lions will have to make some drastic changes as the season progresses if they had only made small changes from their offense last year. Other teams will be watching tape on what the New York did to disrupt their offense and will likely use the same tactics. The Jets were able to feed off a solid first game performance from rookie quarterback Sam Darnold. Even though his first pass in the NFL was picked off, he remained calm and for 198 yards and two touchdowns.

New York will look to replicate their impressive Week 1 performance in their home game against the Miami Dolphins this week.
