Christian Hackenberg, Bryce Petty … quarterbacks in Florham Park, New Jersey have been all disappointment as of late. But it hasn't impacted the big boss pertaining to his ability to pick 'em.

New York Jets general manager Mike Maccagnan boldly confesses that he is “unfazed” by past quarterback mistakes, via Rich Cimini of ESPN.

“It doesn’t faze me,” Maccagnan said of the criticism. “It’s the college draft. [There are] guys you'll hit on and guys who don’t pan out. That’s part of the process. We feel pretty confident with this year’s group and where we're situated.”

Of course, Maccagnan's Jets are set to pick third in this month's NFL Draft and with a loaded quarterback class, one is likely heading to the swamps of Northern Jersey.

During Mac's first draft of 2015, it was Bryce Petty selected in the fourth round. Petty, 26, has played in 10 games, starting seven, while impressing nobody. With a total of 1,353 yards and four touchdowns to 10 interceptions, his quarterback IQ appears overwhelmed by this level of football.

Christian Hackenberg has been Maccagnan's bigger miss.

Hackenberg, 23, was an early second-round pick by Maccagnan in the 2016 draft by way of Penn State. It would be nice to spout off some of Hack's numbers, but we can't. He's yet to take an official snap in the NFL.

A quarterback for the franchise's long-term plans is desperately needed, Josh McCown and Teddy Bridgewater or not. It's why the Jets relented three second-round selections to move up from six to three.

“I don’t like necessarily giving up the picks, per se, to move up,” said Maccagnan, adding he did it because it's a chance to “potentially help yourself in the bigger scheme of things.”

The NFL Draft comes your way on Thursday, April 26, 2018.
