New York Jets running back Le'Veon Bell never showed up last year for the Pittsburgh Steelers, and his attendance record hasn't started off any better with his new team. On Tuesday morning, the team kicked off voluntary minicamp, and according to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, Bell was nowhere to be found:

One thing to remember with this is that it's not mandatory to be at these minicamps, so it's probably a non-story. Head coach Adam Gase even said Bell was at the first week of offseason workouts:

Still, with Bell starting with a new team, there was some thought that he might show at this minicamp.

A lot of fans, coaches and front-office personnel like to think that players need to attend these minicamps. Tom Coughlin of the Jacksonville Jaguars made it clear last week he wasn't happy that Jaylen Ramsey wasn't at voluntary offseason workouts.

Coughlin got a lot of blowback from Ramsey and the NFLPA, who reminded him that these are voluntary and it shouldn't be held against him if he doesn't show up.

So, this really should be a non-story for Bell, as he's probably just working out with his private trainers. If Bell somehow doesn't show up to the camps when they start becoming mandatory, that's a different story. But with a new contract in hand, it's hard to believe he wouldn't show up.
