Le'Veon Bell may have sat out the entire 2018 campaign due to a contract dispute with the Pittsburgh Steelers, but that does not mean the running back feels like he has lost a step.

Now with the New York Jets, Bell told CBS Sports analyst and former Steelers cornerback Bryant McFadden that he not only feel likes a top-three halfback in the game, but he still thinks he is the best, period:

“Of course,” Bell said. “I mean, everybody's going to have an opinion on what type of back they want [but] I believe every [general manager] in this league considers me a top-three running back in the league. I mean, me personally, I feel like I'm the best running back.

“There's nothing I can't do. I feel like I'm the best pick-up blocker, hands down. Running routes? I feel like I run routes like a receiver. I literally watched one of the greatest receivers ever run routes for five years in Antonio Brown, and now I get to come out here and watch other guys like [Jamison Crowder] — I only learn.”

During his last season in 2017, Bell rushed for 1,291 yards and nine touchdowns while averaging four yards per carry. In addition, he hauled in 85 receptions for 655 yards and a couple of scores, making the Pro Bowl and earning a First-Team All-Pro selection as a result.

The 27-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Michigan State, was originally selected by Pittsburgh in the second round (48th pick overall) of the 2013 NFL Draft.

He made three Pro Bowls while earning a pair of First-Team All-Pro selections during his tenure with the Steelers.
