The New York Jets pulled an upset over the Miami Dolphins this past Sunday, but they may have paid a steep price for getting their first win of the season.

Defensive end Muhammad Wilkerson missed the team's practice on Wednesday, stating that he's currently dealing with a grade 1 shoulder sprain. On the bright side, the former first-round pick believes he can power through the pain and be ready for Week 4's clash against the Jacksonville Jaguars:

Wilkerson is arguably the best player on New York's roster right now, and the Jets can't afford to lose the two-time All-Pro considering their lack of standout players. The team also reported that running back Matt Forte is dealing with a bout of turf toe; the 10-year veteran already expected to sit out Sunday's game against the Jags.

Forte's latest injury pretty much forced the Jets to sign former Saints running back Travaris Cadet earlier this week for some added depth in the backfield. However, they have no feasible replacement for their stud defensive end. Lawrence Thomas is currently the man behind Wilkerson on the depth chart, but Thomas has only played five games with five tackles since being drafted by the Jets in 2016.

Wilkerson has only missed four games throughout his decorated six-year NFL career.
