The New York Jets may be all in on Sam Darnold as their franchise quarterback, however, it appears they made sure to secure a surplus of options under center to begin the 2020 NFL season.
The Jets plan on taking full advantage of the expanded practice squad by carrying five quarterbacks on their roster, per ESPN's Rich Cimini:

The Jets are all too familiar with the importance of having contingency options under center given what transpired during Darnold's absence during the 2019 campaign. They were able to fill this void by bringing in quarterback Joe Flacco to be his backup. Aside from given them a dependable No. 2, his experience should also help pay some dividends for Darnold's development.
Unfortunately, Flacco is still recovering from the neck surgery he underwent back in April and reports indicate that he is hoping to be back by Week 3. As a result, New York opted to take precautions by giving themselves several options to work with in the meantime.
Rounding out the depth chart on the active roster is quarterback James Morgan following his arrival as a fourth-round pick from Florida International. The rookie managed to edge out David Fales and Mike White for the final spot in the quarterback room with his play in training camp. Fortunately for Fales and White, the expanded practice squads allowed the Jets to keep them around following their release.
