The New York Jets are looking for a new kicker. According to the New York Daily News' Manish Mehta, the team will be looking into Cody Parkey and Younghoe Koo to fill out their kicking duties.

Taylor Bertolet's poor preseason play following the retirement of Chandler Catanzaro has made the Jets desperate for a new kicker.

Head coach Adam Gase is familiar with Parkey, as he coached him for one-year with the Miami Dolphins in 2017.

He then left for the Chicago Bears, where he was released from after a year due to the iconic “double doink” missed field goal in the playoffs. Since then, he's gone unsigned and hasn't warranted much interest.

For his regular-season career, Parkey is 99 of 118 field goal attempts (83.9%) and 149 of 156 on PATS (95.5%). In 2018, he went 23 of 30 on field goals (76.7%) and 42 of 45 on PATs (93.3%). Before that, with Gase in South Beach, Parkey kicked 21 of 23 on field goals (91.3%) and 26 of 29 on PATs (89.7%).

Koo is partially connected to Parkey in that he tried out for the Bears' kicking job after the release. But, he didn't get it and hasn't been in the NFL since 2017, with the Los Angeles Chargers.

His most recent playing time came in the Alliance of American Football, where he made all 15 of his attempts with a long of 38 yards, per No Extra Points.
