The New York Jets are making major changes this offseason and are hoping to get back into playoff contention. After another disappointing season in 2018, the Jets decided to spend big money in free agency and bring in a new head coach and general manager.
Adam Gase was hired to be the new head coach and Joe Douglas was just hired to be the team's next general manager. New York also went into free agency and signed superstar running back Le'Veon Bell and superstar linebacker C.J. Mosley. They also added defensive tackle Quinnen Williams in the 2019 NFL Draft.
Now, the team could be looking to make another big move in the front office. According to a report shared by Pro Football Talk, the Jets could be able to lure ESPN NFL Draft analyst Todd McShay away from the company and into a front office role.
McShay told ESPN's Rich Cimini that he could end up leaving the Worldwide Leader in Sports for a new opportunity in the NFL.
“Joe is considering multiple options and I’m one of the options,” McShay said.
This would be a very interesting move for the Jets. There is no question that McShay knows his football and would be a valuable asset to any team. His draft prowess could become a major factor for New York as well.
New York has made it clear that they are done being a pushover team. They want to get back to being a Super Bowl contender and are willing to do whatever it takes to get back to that point.
While McShay may not be the piece that gets them to that point, he would be a nice step in the right direction.
