While current Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh is someone that figures to garner a lot of attention from NFL franchises, it sounds like the New York Jets may not be a potential destination for him.

The Jets fired former head coach Todd Bowles last Sunday, and that ramped up the rumor mill as to who would be one of the favorites to land the job in New York.

Naturally, given Harbaugh's success when he served as head coach of the San Francisco 49ers, it made sense that he would be a name thrown around in plenty of coaching searches.

However, it doesn't seem like a move to the Jets is in the works at this point.

From Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News:

Although Jets CEO Christopher Johnson didn’t get into specifics yesterday about whether Jim Harbaugh would be a candidate for the HC job, I’ve been told that Harbaugh to the Jets is not happening.

Harbaugh led the Niners to three straight playoff appearances in his four years with the franchise which included a trip to the Super Bowl.

He has compiled a 38-14 record with the Wolverines thus far, with three 10-win seasons in his four years on the job.

As someone with a lot of NFL experience both as a player and a coach, he's certainly going to be someone that is linked to jobs that become available.

But at least right now, it looks like Harbaugh may be fine with staying at the college level at Michigan.
