Despite hauling in the 23-yard catch, Bell and the Jets were unable to convert on a touchdown, with a Demaryius Thomas score being called back by officials for offensive pass interference from a teammate. With New York backed up, quarterback Sam Darnold inched closer to the goal line, but the Jets had to settle on a game-tying field goal, erasing four points and an early lead that Bell helped establish.
The Jets are facing a mediocre Oakland Raiders on Sunday in the NFL's Week 12 slate of games. They're home against the west coast team, in a forecast that could halt progress as rain is expected to sweep in at the Meadowlands.
Should the weather turn ugly, it's expected the game will turn into a ground game matchup between Bell and Raiders rookie rusher Josh Jacobs.
