While the Philadelphia Eagles and the New England Patriots are in the thick of their preparation for the Super Bowl, New York Jets wide receiver Robby Anderson is busy dealing with the legal system. According to Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk, Anderson has reportedly pleaded not guilty to the nine charges he received in relation to an incident in South Florida over a week ago.

According to multiple reports, Anderson pleaded not guilty to all the charges in a Broward County courtroom. Among the charges are three felony counts for harming a public servant or their family, fleeing and eluding a law enforcement officer with lights and sirens on and speeding after being pulled over by police for going 105 mph in a 45 mph zone.

Apart from those already mentioned by Alper, Robby Anderson also got charges for failure to drive in a single lane, turning when unsafe or without using signals, misdemeanor reckless driving, exceeding the speed limit, and disobeying or avoiding a red light. All told, Anderson is being alleged of being a total delinquent person on the day of his arrest

If Anderson would serve time in prison for any of these charges, it would be a big spoiler for his burgeoning NFL career. The 24-year-old Anderson emerged as one of the best young wide receivers in the NFL in 2017, when he led the Jets with 941 receiving yards and seven touchdown grabs on 63 receptions.

Anderson has one more year left on his contract with Jets. He would be a restricted free agent at the end of the 2018 season.
