The NFL released the official schedules for the 2019 season on Wednesday evening. Although, the New York Jets have a number of matchups to look forward to, there is no question running back Le'Veon Bell has circled his calendar for his showdown with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

It is easy to see why Bell has already begun to hype up the game versus the Steelers. Pittsburgh is where he established himself as one of the elite running backs in the NFL after being selected to three Pro Bowls and earning All-Pro honors three times in his first five years with the team. He had hoped to be rewarded with a contract that proved his worth, however, failed negotiations ultimately led him to sit out the entire 2018 campaign before signing with New York this offseason.

While Bell has much to prove this season, it is safe to assume he will be looking to remind the Steelers of what could have been. Perhaps even more interesting is the fact that their Week 16 matchup could potentially be a meaningful game for both teams. He will have an opportunity to make quite the statement if all goes according to plan. Pittsburgh knows full well what the 27-year-old is capable of in the backfield. It will be interesting to see if Bell is able to put on a show for his former team and new home crowd come late December.
