Things do not look good for Washington Redskins linebacker Cassanova McKinzy.

The 26-year-old who had worked his way back in the main roster suffered a torn pectoral, Thursday as per  Ian Rapoport of ESPN.com.

McKinzy had to exit the game early after hurting his shoulder. But he returned only to make matters worse.

The linebacker's journey to the NFL isn't an easy one. He began his career with a short stint with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted rookie in 2016.

After being released in August of 2016, he had to wait for a few months to find a new team. In January 2017 he joined the Los Angeles Rams practice squad but was also released.

He then signed with the Redskins in January 2018; there he was cut and re-signed several times.

Finally, he earned the right to play on the field for the Redskins in week 10 of this season and went on to record a tackle in three appearances.

The Redskins have been dealing with a horde of injuries already, with his addition to list adding more fuel to the flame.

They are trying to survive without the services of starting quarterback Alex Smith was ruled out for the remainder of the season.

A gruesome right leg injury derailed the 34-year-old's 2018 campaign and is expected to miss 8-10 months.

The Redskins lead in the NFC East is already being threatened due to their back-to-back losses. The Dallas Cowboys are in a tie with them with a 6-5 record.

This injury will probably take its toll to their team in the coming weeks as the season approaches the playoffs.
