Prospects will not be on hand during the 2020 NFL Draft.

In fact, the draft will be conducted virtually, with Commissioner Roger Goodell announcing picks from his home in Westchester County, New York. Additionally, front offices will also conduct draft business on a virtual level, with all team facilities shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic.

As such, the NFL will not enforce a dress code during the virtual draft. However, one spokesperson noted players who did not attend the draft in previous years still tended to dress up for the occasion, which might set the precedent for this year (via TMZ):

“It’s up to the individual players,” an NFL spokesperson tells us … but hinted we most likely won't see draftees getting selected while wearing sweatpants.

“In previous years, players who did not attend the Draft but appeared in interviews with NFL Network or ESPN generally wore suits.”

While everything will be done remotely next week, multiple networks are still combining to provide coverage of the 2020 NFL Draft. This includes ABC, ESPN and NFL Network, with the latter two providing the brunt of coverage (via Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk):

Per multiple sources, the combined ESPN/NFLN draft telecast essentially will be an ESPN production. As noted by Andrew Marchand of the New York Post noted recently, it’s expected that most of the on-air contributions will come from ESPN employees, with a far more limited group of NFL Network talent adding to the broadcast. Beyond Rich Eisen, Kurt Warner, and Daniel Jeremiah, there’s a chance that most if not all of the rest of the NFL Network reporters and analysts will have the weekend off.

The extent to which the networks will interview players remains to be seen.

In any case, potential draftees will not be required to adhere to any specific dress code. Still, it would not be a surprise to see players dressed in suits or nice attire as they prepare for what might be the most momentous night of their football lives.
