Washington Football Team running back Adrian Peterson has had an amazing career thus far. He's garnered 7 Pro Bowl appearances, 4 All Pro selections, and even an MVP trophy. All Day has built up a hall-of-fame worthy resume for sure. However, Peterson recently revealed that he's still chasing a couple of major goals for his career.

Adrian Peterson shared this during an interview with the NFL Network.

“Winning a championship is the one I want most,” Peterson said on NFL Network.

Despite a highly successful 14-year career, the Lombardi trophy has always eluded the star running back. Sadly, his chances look pretty slim right now playing for Washington. He might need a change of scenery by signing with a contender needing veteran experience in order to chase his first championship.

Peterson also said he’d like to catch Emmitt Smith, the NFL’s all-time rushing leader. Peterson, who has 14,216 career rushing yards, needs to gain 4,140 more yards to pass Smith’s record of 18,355.

“That’s one of the goals I set to myself when I entered the NFL was to pass the GOAT,” Peterson said. “I look forward to playing a couple more years, 3-4 more years, who knows, depending on how my body is feeling.”

Despite advancing in terms of age, Peterson has still managed to be relatively productive in recent seasons. He's played 31 out of the 32 possible games the last two years. He's also rushed for 1,042 and 898 yards respectively.

Emmitt Smith's all-time mark may seem out of reach, but it's not impossible. If Adrian Peterson can somehow pull off a four more good seasons blessed with good health, you never know.

Adrian Peterson may be way past his prime years already. But make no mistake, he's still playing to the best that his body allows him to. Adrian Peterson's goals may seem far-fetched at this point, but that won't stop him from trying.
