The Washington Redskins still haven't offloaded Trent Williams, and this could make some of the fans hope that their star offensive tackle could change his mind about leaving the team. However, Joe Theismann immediately shot down any chances of that happening.

Zachary Neel of Redskins Wire wrote about the legendary quarterback's thoughts on Williams' situation. Theismann thinks that the working relationship between Williams and the Redskins has become so bad that there's no chance for seven-time Pro Bowler will remain a Redskin this season. It's likely that the team has accepted not getting Williams back and is considering their options in trading him.

“‘In Trent’s situation, it was bad. There was no way he [can] be a Redskin again,' Theismann said, via NBC Sports Washington. ‘The relationship [has] become so toxic, it just [can’t] continue in that vein.'”

It's not hard to see them let go of Williams as they've already offloaded some of their players this offseason: Quinton Dunbar was traded to the Seattle Seahawks while Montae Nicholson was released. Both avenues are open for the Redskins since Williams is in the final year of his five-year, $68-million contract.

However, it would be in the team's best interest to find a new home for him via trade. Williams is a talented tackle who should be able to attract offers from teams. He's made the last seven Pro Bowls and numerous teams have already reached out to — and been rebuffed by — Washington to try to acquire him in a trade.

The question now is whether they'll find a deal for him now or later on into the season. Whichever decision they'll make, the Redskins can expect to get a good deal for Williams.
