For the first time since 2012, the Washington Redskins used their first-round draft pick on a quarterback, selecting Ohio State's Dwayne Haskins with the 15th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft on Thursday night.

The last time the Redskins took a signal-caller with their first-round draft choice was when they nabbed Baylor's Robert Griffin III with the second overall pick seven years ago.

Griffin's tenure with Washington began with a bang, as he threw for 3,200 yards, 20 touchdowns and five interceptions while completing 65.6 percent of his passes and registering a passer rating of 102.4 during his rookie campaign, leading the Redskins to an NFC East division title as a result.

However, it didn't take long for injuries to derail Griffin, as knee issues prevented him from ever reaching the level at which he played during his first season ever again.

Washington then parted ways with Griffin after three years, and he has been all but irrelevant ever since.

After the Redskins decided to roll with Haskins on Thursday evening, Griffin saw that as an opportunity to take a subliminal shot at the franchise he once called home:

Obviously, Griffin is still bitter over how his marriage with Washington ended, and many blame former Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan for essentially ruining Griffin's career by sending him back on to the field in the Redskins' Wild Card Round playoff game against the Seattle Seahawks during the quarterback's rookie year in spite of a knee injury.

Now, Griffin is a backup quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens and can only watch as Washington moves on.
