Washington Redskins offensive coordinator Scott Turner has made clear that Adrain Peterson is going to have some sort of role for the 2020 season. Speaking to the media about the offensive outlook for the 2020 season, Turner said he has great respect for what the future Hall of Famer can bring to the team.

Turner also said that Peterson can be good in check-down or play-action pass situations, which is interesting because those are two areas he has struggled.

In 31 games the last two seasons with the Redskins, Peterson has had only 49 passing targets. Maybe Turner is trying to give Peterson confidence in that part of his game, but it's hard to imagine Peterson will actually play that big of a role in the passing offense.
Peterson and the rest of the Redskins running backs won't have Trent Williams blocking for him, something that doesn't make him very happy (via CBS Sports):

Even though Peterson said he wasn't happy with the trade, he does appreciate that Williams ended up getting what he wanted. Peterson added,
“I was hoping there would be some good ending to him and what the Redskins were dealing with but, I'm happy for him … I've been on Trent since he was in high school and as long as he's happy, that's all that matters.”
With Dwayne Haskins preparing to be the Redskins' starting quarterback for 2020, the team will likely lean on the running game yet again. But that might not be reflected in how Peterson is used this season.
