The Washington Redskins have wasted no time ushering in some changes to the roster under the new regime with head coach Ron Rivera. Regardless, it seems they are still hoping to keep left tackle Trent Williams around for the 2020 NFL season.
Williams endured a tumultuous 2019 campaign in Washington that was fueled by his desire to leave town. According to Les Carpenter of The Washington Post, they believe he will stick round for another year.

Williams' dispute with the team had dominated headlines throughout the offseason. He had even demanded a trade after the way the medical staff went about treating a growth on his head that turned out to be cancerous.
As a result, Williams opted to hold out the entire offseason as well as the first half of the 2019 NFL season. His stance on wanting to leave had not changed much after dubbing his relationship with Washington to be far beyond fixing. This has raised plenty of speculation regarding the team's plans for him.
Of course, much has changed since Williams made those comments after team president Bruce Allen and longtime trainer Larry Hess were fired. Meanwhile, Rivera has already brought in trainer Ryan Vermillion in an attempt to improve Williams' trust in the team. It remains to be seen if this will be enough to convince him to come back.
