It's supposed to be cold when the New England Patriots and the Kansas City Chiefs face off on Sunday in the AFC Championship game but that isn't something that Bill Belichick is worried about. Belichick was asked about the cold by reporters and didn't seem concerned, rather just talking about how excited they were to still be playing.

“Love to play in the championship game,” Belichick said via ESPN. “Schedule it wherever you want. We'll be there.”

According to AccuWeather, it's supposed to be “bitterly cold” when the two teams kick off at 5:40 PM local time and wind chill is expected to below zero. Belichick isn't using the weather as an excuse but he is trying to get the team as prepared as possible to play in the cold.

“We definitely do that. In some cases, we can practice that way. In some cases, we can't,” Belichick said of preparing for a specific week's conditions. “If we're able to utilize a practice tool prior to the game because of the way that the circumstances fall, then great. And if we're not, then we prepare mentally and talk about how we want to do certain things or whatever the issues are.”

As cold as it's going to be in Kansas City, the Patriots don't play in warm temperatures and last week when they kicked off with the Chargers it was in the 20's. For the game this weekend the Patriots are focused on the Chiefs, not the weather.

“We're getting ready for the Chiefs,” Belichick said. “Whatever it is, it is.”
