The Philadelphia Eagles are well into the 2022 NFL Offseason. Their season ended following a Wild Card loss against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in mid-January.
Despite the early tournament knockout, the Eagles made it much farther than most expected. The 2021-2022 season was the first official year of the Eagles' rebuild, and even making it to the postseason tournament was more than the franchise and its fans expected.
Heading into the second year of the rebuild, there are a lot of questions to be answered. Head coach Nick Sirianni is expected to be the leader moving forward, but what about Jalen Hurts? What will the Eagles do with their three first-round picks in the 2022 NFL Draft? Here are the three moves that the Eagles must make this offseason to be playoff contenders next season.

3. Get youth within the offensive line
The Eagles have continued to build their offensive line in recent years, acquiring young guys like Jordan Mailata in 2018, Nate Herbig in 2019, and Landon Dickerson in 2021. However, the core of Philadelphia's offensive line is aging in center Jason Kelce and tackle Lane Johnson.
The Eagles need to use at least one of their three first-round picks to bring youth to the tackle and center positions.
Fortunately, it sounds like Kelce won't retire this offseason and is sticking around with the Birds for another year. That makes it even more urgent to get a promising young center in the 2022 NFL Draft to shadow the talent and leadership of the veteran.
2. Acquire a veteran/experienced wide receiver

Much like Jason Kelce mentoring a young center, the Eagles need to find a veteran for DeVonta Smith. He had a great rookie season as Philadelphia's top receiver. He recorded 64 receptions for 916 yards and five touchdowns in his first regular-season in the NFL.
Smith said it himself earlier this month on the Takeoff with John Clark podcast. The young receiver said, “I know it would help for me, just being under their wing, how they operate, how they are as a pro.” Get this man a veteran to work with, and he'll be unstoppable.
1. Figure out the quarterback position
As usual, there is a question mark at the Eagles' quarterback position. After winning the quarterback controversy between him and Carson Wentz, now Jalen Hurts is on the hot seat. Philadelphia has three first-round picks, but there aren't any glaring obvious quarterbacks in this year's draft to build a franchise around.
That being said, the Eagles need to make a decision: Hurts or an experienced quarterback from within the league? Head coach Nick Sirianni said Hurts had the position in January, but that hasn't stopped Philadelphia fans from contemplating the future of the position.
If it were up to me, Hurts would have the job, and it's ridiculous that the franchise could even consider another option. He led the team to an unlikely playoff run in the first year of their rebuild and his first year as a starting quarterback. Hurts is young and proved his potential this season.
Also, the Eagles decided in 2020 to move on from Wentz and build a team around Hurts. He hasn't done anything to prove them wrong, and he needs another season under his belt before people go kicking him out of Philadelphia.
