When the Philadelphia Eagles won the Super Bowl last year the biggest reason was that they had two capable quarterbacks that could lead the team.

When Carson Wentz went down with injury, it was the backup Nick Foles who stepped in and although he didn't get off to the best start, he continued to get better and better all the way to the Super Bowl victory.

This offseason there was questions if Foles would end up being traded, and if he was there would have been a handful of teams that he could have started right away for. The Eagles knowing first hand how important a backup quarterback is decided to keep Foles in case something happened to Wentz.

Many wondered if this would cause a controversy or if there would be any awkwardness in the quarterback room this year.  For Wentz though he said he really likes Foles and there are no issues between the two professionals.

“I think Nick and I, just from the outside world you'd think there could be some potential ruffled feathers and different things going on,” Wentz told Kevin Patra of Around the NFL. But the way Nick and I have handled just our relationship, the basis of our relationship is we're friends first and foremost before we're teammates. So that's made things so much easier to just root each other on and just have complete confidence in each other. We both know kind of where we're at and what going forward is going to look like. So I'm really confident that there'll be no issues with that. I love Nick and we both understand kind of the nature of this business and the outset of this team and the future. So we're excited. And I'm excited he's still here.”

For Foles, he has said how much he has liked playing for the Eagles, and he is only two years removed from really questioning retiring. But with the Eagles and his mental state now, this is a perfect situation and if the wins keep coming, there won't be any trouble in paradise.
