For Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz, the comeback from an ACL is ahead of schedule and looking good for the 2018 season.

The Philadelphia Eagles managed to do the unthinkable by winning Super Bowl 52 without their franchise quarterback in Carson Wentz. This may be why there is plenty of optimism surrounding quarterback position going into the 2018 NFL season.

Wentz had his year cut short by a severe knee injury he sustained against the Los Angeles Rams down the final stretch of the season. According to ESPN's Tim McManus, executive vice president of football operations, Howie Roseman, says he is ahead of schedule in his rehabilitation process:

Philadelphia Eagles executive vice president of football operations Howie Roseman says quarterback Carson Wentz is ahead of schedule in his rehab, backing up coach Doug Pederson's assessment from a day earlier.

The update on Wentz is certainly music to Eagles' fans ears. The former second overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft was enjoying an MVP-caliber year before his injury after registering 3,296 yards, 33 touchdowns, and just seven interceptions in 13 games. He played so well that despite the fact that the Eagles won the championship, there is no doubt his status as their franchise player moving forward.

As a result, this gives Roseman plenty of leverage when it comes to fielding offers for quarterback Nick Foles. The Super Bowl MVP has become one of the biggest names on the market, and for good reason. That said, he has garnered plenty of interest from the quarterback-hungry teams around the league. The injury report for Wentz just gives Philadelphia some more cushion to hear out potential offers that are to their liking.
