Since Philadelphia Eagles star quarterback Carson Wentz suffered a torn LCL and MCL last December, the focus around has him has been his recovery from the injuries. There hasn't been any formal timetable placed on when he will be able to return to the field ahead of the 2018 campaign.
However, there has continued to be encouraging developments with his recovery that suggest that he is on track to be back in the coming months. According to Ian Rapoport of The NFL Network, Wentz has been able to throw with the same mechanics possibly better than before the injury.
Positive note for #Eagles QB Carson Wentz: He recently sent film to gurus Tom House & Adam Dedeaux at 3DQB, and his mechanics are sound, I’m told. He’s throwing the same or better than before, technically. Injuries can cause players to alter how they throw. That hasn’t happened.

This is potentially encouraging news given that Wentz is recovering from a significant injury that typically alters the playing style of players. It's one that could be a mental hurdle for them to get over due to the severity and location of the injury, but it doesn't appear that he has let it impact him in any form up to this point.
The fact that he is still able to throw in the same manner is a telling sign that he is progressing quite well in his rehab that should point to him being on the field at some point over the offseason and be ready for the start of the 2018 NFL season. Wentz has been long aiming to be back in the fold by that time frame since he suffered the injury several months ago.
There has been no rush toward working Wentz back into the fold given the type of injury he is dealing with along with having a more than a strong backup in Nick Foles on the roster. It has placed no increased pressure to get him back on the field sooner than what he may require. In the meantime, it appears that Wentz is inching another step closer toward being ready to go for the 2018 season.
