If you ever become a zombie one day and stumbles inside the Lincoln Financial Field, there's a chance that you'd end up as just another kill for Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Darius Slay. We're not talking about a video game here. Zombies aren't real but Slay has already sent a warning to every braindead creatures out there that he won't hesitate to whack them in the head if he crosses paths with them.

Here's Mr. Slay living up to his name:

A fan of the TV show, Walking Dead, the Eagles' key secondary piece channeled his fantasy to “smack zombies” in the head with a baseball bat while promoting the new Netflix flick by Zack Snyder, Army of the Dead. It's easy to say such things, especially if you know those threats don't exist, but Slay seems to be pretty confident about his chances against zombies.

In an interview with Michael Rothstein of ESPN way back in 2015, Slay, who was then still with the Detroit Lions, said he wanted to have a “cameo” in the Walking Dead, but not as a zombie. Slay was traded by Detroit to the Eagles in March 2020.

“I can’t be the zombie,” Slay said. “I can’t be the one getting killed. I need to be killing the zombies. You know, so that’s what I need to be doing. They need to have me in there, two scenes, two series, me killing some zombies. Then I can just die, out of the blue. Let me die out of the blue.”

As Slay waits for the real zombies to take over the earth, his focus remains on containing opposing wide receivers.

Last season, Slay appeared in 15 games with just an interception to go with just six passes defended for the Eagles.
