The Philadelphia Eagles got a big return for their Week 9 matchup with the Chicago Bears. That return came in the form of wide receiver DeSean Jackson.

Jackson is known for being one of the most lethal deep threats in the entire NFL. He proved that with a massive Week 1 game against the Washington Redskins when he caught eight passes for 154 yards and two touchdowns.

An injury kept him out for the next seven games though. Then came the return in Week 9 and you couldn't blame Philadelphia fans if they were excited.

They did not get him for long though. Jackson caught one pass for five yards on the first possession of the game. That was the only possession he played in.

According to Charean Williams of ProFootballTalk.com, head coach Doug Peterson says that Jackson left the game due to precautionary reasons.

“The plan was to play him,” Eagles coach Doug Pederson said, via Zach Berman of TheAthletic.com. “We’ll have some more testing done in the morning, probably have a better update on him. The plan was to play him [for the entire game]. . . .It’s precautionary right now. We’ll get some more testing on it.”

It sounds like Jackson simply wasn't 100% yet. Maybe he thought he was, but something flared up once he got into game action.

The problem is, it sounds like we won't really know exactly what happened until Monday morning. For all we know, it could be something completely unrelated to his previous injury. However, it's pretty safe to assume that Jackson suffered a relapse in his injury, and the Eagles were just being careful.

The good news for the Eagles is that they beat the Bears by a final score of 22-14, moving to 5-4 on the season. Now they'll just have to hope Jackson isn't out for much longer.
