DeSean Jackson isn't currently expected to miss any time with his finger injury. New details on how the Philadelphia Eagles veteran plans to play through the pain, though, reveal the potential possibility of his performance being affected on the field. In fact, there's no guarantee he'll continue playing if the injury proves too uncomfortable.

“Source: Re: Eagles WR Desean Jackson fractured ring finger, Jackson was told it is a 3-4 wk injury. He's scheduled to try out a custom splint tomorrow, at this time. I'm told, he's not sure what his comfort will be playing w/it, will determine later if he'll play b4 fully healed,” ESPN's Josina Anderson wrote on Twitter.

Jackson suffered a fractured finger on his left hand during Tuesday's practice. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported he wasn't “expected to miss time” and that the Eagles weren't “concerned” with the injury.

The 11-year veteran was acquired by the Eagles in March via trade with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a trade with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He subsequently signed a three-year, $27 million deal with the Eagles, a boon for an aging player whose existing contract was set to expire after this season.

Jackson, who first rose to stardom at the top of the decade with the Eagles, has been receiving rave reviews from teammates and coaches throughout the offseason. He teams with Alshon Jeffery, Nelson Agholor, rookie J.J. Arcega-Whiteside, and star tight end Zach Ertz to give Philadelphia one of the league’s most dangerous crops of receivers around franchise quarterback Carson Wentz.
