Jalen Hurts got involved with Erick — a seven-year-old that is battling cancer — through a charity called Alex's Lemonade Stand. The Oklahoma product spoke to the family about Erick's battle with cancer amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The rookie quarterback heard that Erick's family was living in a two-bedroom trailer with five children, prompting him to help them find a new place to live. In the video of Hurts' good deed, Hurts gives $30,000 to Erick's mother that will go towards them finding a new house.

During his rookie season, Hurts would serve as the backup to Carson Wentz for the majority of the year. But after Wentz would struggle as the starter, Doug Pederson elected to insert Hurts into the starting lineup in hopes he could incite a spark into the offense.
In his four starts under center, Jalen Hurts would throw for 919 yards, five touchdowns, and three interceptions while also rushing for 272 yards and three touchdowns. As it remains to be seen if he'll be the starter in 2021, Hurts is making himself a fan-favorite in Philadelphia with his contributions off of the gridiron.
