Philadelphia Eagles starting right tackle Lane Johnson suffered a Grade 2 MCL sprain in his knee against the Jacksonville Jaguars and could miss about a month, per Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Johnson suffered the injury after his leg got rolled up during the opening series against the Jaguars, which saw quarterback Carson Wentz strip-sacked. Johnson walked off under his own power but was then was carted into the locker room.

Halapoulivaati Vaitai replaced Johnson in the lineup and will likely take over at right tackle in his absence. Vaitai has decent experience as a starter. He started 16 out of the 23 games he played during his first two seasons in the league at both right and left tackle.

Johnson, 28, is in his sixth season in the league, all with the Eagles. He is coming off a career year in 2017 as he made the Pro Bowl and First-Team All-Pro. However, he has been unable to replicate that type of elite form this season.

Johnson is just the latest in a long list of injury casualties for the Eagles this season. The Eagles' other starting offensive tackle, Jason Peters, is already significantly banged up. He’s playing through several injuries, including a torn biceps. Philly also has lost the likes of safety Rody McLeod, running back Jay Ajayi, and defensive end Derek Barnett with season-ending injuries.

The Eagles will look to regroup and get healthier during their upcoming bye week. Their first assignment without Johnson will come at home against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 10.
