Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz finally managed to show some flashes of his former MVP-caliber self in Week 4. It appears offensive coordinator Mike Groh is impressed with his progression thus far in the 2018 NFL season.

There was some concern regarding Wentz having to potentially switch up his style of play after tearing his ACL last season. However, Groh is pleased with how he has looked, via Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk:

“He looks great to me,” Groh said. “I mean, he’s got to wear the brace, which I imagine if we all walked around with a brace on it wouldn’t quite feel the same as it would without the brace. But I don’t see any real limitations in his mobility or pocket mobility to be able to scramble for a first down.”

It is no surprise that Groh would talk up his franchise player. However, there is certainly some truth to his comments. Wentz got off to a slow start in his season debut versus the Indianapolis Colts. Fortunately, he managed to follow it up with a strong performance against the Tennessee Titans.

He completed 33 of 50 passes for 348 yards and two touchdowns. Although the Eagles were unable to escape from Tennessee with the win, he managed to show flashes of what made him one of the most promising, young quarterbacks in the NFL. That said, there is still plenty of room for improvement.

The Eagles have done a poor job or protecting their quarterback this season. They have already allowed Wentz to be sacked nine times in his first two games back. Regardless of how he looks, Philadelphia will want to limit the number of hits he takes moving forward.
