The Philadelphia Eagles have officially come down from cloud nine following their Super Bowl LII win to the usual offseason grind. Fortunately, they have managed to temper the fallout from their spectacular year from a personnel standpoint.
Among the notable storylines has been the uncertain future of quarterback Nick Foles. According to ESPN's Tim McManus, executive vice president of football operations Howie Roseman says the asking price for Foles is still rather high:
Roseman's comments should come as no surprise. Foles is coming off a remarkable comeback season that was capped off by Super Bowl MVP honors. He has since been made available as one of the biggest names on the market — for the right price.
The Eagles have all the leverage in this situation considering there is no dire need for them to settle for anything less than what they are looking for. Quarterback Carson Wentz is reportedly on track to return for the start of the 2018 NFL season following his serious knee injury.
Should he suffer any setbacks, Philadelphia will be more than comfortable with Foles under center moving forward. That said, teams will need to make Roseman a lucrative offer if they plan on acquiring a quarterback of Foles' caliber.
